ACCUSED’S CONFESSION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). THURSDAY ISLAND, Jan. 19. A Thursday Island message says that James Kelly has been remanded to Cairns on a charge ol having wilfully murdered Chares W alter at Bonjil Malarnla, about June 28th. Kelly’s alleged statement was read in court and is a complete acknowledgement of tko crime. He said that following a disagreement he struck Walter oil the head with a- piece of wood, and when Walter fell he again struck him. He then carried the body into the scrub and hid it. Ho then cleared out to Thursday Island, where he was arrested.
