HOT AND COLD

TWO EXTREMES. (Australian Press Association). (United Service). 1 Received this day at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 21. While one half of the State sweltered in the beat with a temperature in the nineties during the week-end, the remainder experienced a cold snap or torrential rain. On the far north coast heavy rain fell, the highest reading being six and a half inches at Lismore. The rain will be an immense value to dairy farmers, who suffered greatly owing to the drought. The southern portion of the State again suffered from hot sultry conditions.
