BUSH FIRES

-MANY SHEEP KILLED. (Australian Press Association) (United Service.) (Received this day at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 21. Rush fires in the. Gouldhnrn district have destroyed about three thousand acres of grass. Fifty shoep were found burnt to dentil in one heap at Charley’s Forest. In the midst of the carcases were two kangaroos. The animals were huddled together. An additional five, hundred sheep wor destroyed at Barrallier. The telegraph line to Mittagong was burnt dowh. A Mtingimli message reports that the drought continues in the district and the outlook ‘is serious. Graziers are hand-feeding their sheep. The Harworn river has ceased running and householders are purchasing water at throe shillings for a hundred gallons. The danger of an outbreak of lever from polluted water is great, as water holes are beginning to give off an offensive adour.
