WATERSIDE RIOTS

CLASH WITH POLICE. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) ADELAIDE, Jan. 17. There was further rioting at Port Adelaide to-day when about eight, hundred watersiders and fifty women rushed the Corporation wharf and stoned volunteers loading the steamer Laiidia. Mounted troopers arrived at the gallop, and used batons to some purpose, inflicting head wounds on n any of the rioters, who scattered in all directions. Two policemen were injured with stones. Two rioters were arrested. The Lanena was moved into the stream to avoid further trouble.
