(By Telegraph—Press Association).: WELLINGTON, January 17.; The end of the fifth round ;of; tlie championship rinks saw six rinks lefft in the contest —three Wellington and three Auckland. The rinks are as follow : Auckland: Bremner (West End), Findlay (Epsom), Bell (Hamilton). Wellington: Doherty (Kelburn), Ardell (Hataitai), MeWhannell (HataU tai). • C As it happened for the sixth round, Wellington (Doherty and Ardell) and the two Aucklanders, Bremner and Bell, were drawn against one another, whilst Findlay was drawn against McWhannell. Doherty’s was the only rink left in with two lives as the re* suit of the play off on this round. MeWhannell and Doherty (still with two lives) and Bremner remain in the final games in the championship pairs. Owing to the fact' that some players were competing in the championship rinks, they could only play in the pairs as opportunity offered. Those who were left in at the end of the third? round were Franks (Masterton), Laureason (Linwood), Feilding (HataD tai). Jack (St. Johns). In the foruth round Laurenson (20) boat Feilding (17) and entered the semi-finals. . The semi-finalists in the champion-, ships singles were Delannay (Epsom)! 21, who beat North (Te Awamutu) 20.;. and Coltman (Carlton) 23, who beat Parsons (Ponsonby) ’ll. The final between Coltman and De* lannay will bo played to-morrow morn*, ing.
