ALLEGED DOPING
RACEHORSE ATTACKED. By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) SYDNEY. Jan. 18. . A dastardly attack on the racehorse Bronze Eii/c in the Bong Bong Cup. was made at that town yesterday. The animal is now .suffering intense agony. After Bronze Fuze was unexpectedly defeated in tlu* cup and returned to the enclosure it was apparent something was wrong with the horse. Mr Gaxieii (amateur rider) dismounted as soon as the winning post was reached and led the horse, which was blind in both eyes and stumbling, hack to the enclosure. Devalin (Chief Stipendiary Steward) conducted an examination and found tile horse paralysed in the loins. Dcvalin said it appeared to he a clear case of doping. Later a man was ordered oil' the course.
