At a meeting of the Wellington Centro of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, the 50vds. centie championship was awarded to Wellington Club. It was reported with regard to the performance on Saturday of W. Cameron in swimming the hundred yards championship in 56 4-5 secs three-fifths of a second better than the’existing New Zealand record for the distance, it was unfortunate that the Centre could not recommend its recognition, •as the starting board was too high.
