ARNE BORG. AT N.S.W. CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Australian Press Association). (United Service.) SYDNEY, Jan. 12. The New South Wales swimming, championships have commenced. Borg was given an ovation when he appeared. Charlton watched the races from the hank. The hoys’ 220yds championship was won by Cecil Right (Sydney) in the record time of 2.71. The 440vd resulted: Borg (Sweden) U, Ryan (Manly) 2, Griffiths (Sydney) 3. Borg was soon in the lead, and won by 2. r >vds, with the third five yards away. Time '>.s .1-5. The winmu’ appeared to have little in reserve, and observers are of the opinion that Charlton could have beaten him. The 100yds backstroke resulted: — Campbell 1. Watson 2, Rowe 3. Time 1.14|.
