The “Daily Mail” publishes further details of Segrave’s new car named “Golden Arrow.” It says eighteen months ago a millionaire visited Segrave and said:—“l hear von want to get back tbe record. Go ahead and get a car built. Tell tbe designer to spend what he likes and to spare no money in making the car as safe as it i* humanly possible.” Scgrave commissioned a motor engineer, Captain Irving, aged 42. a north countryman. Irving carried out his commission and the car cost C 15.000 sterling. It may be estimated that the car will cover 1.00-mile 1 ’ during a trial and racing, includm!/ run ups and slow downs, equivalent to one hour’s work.
