AMUSEMENTS.

M EVERYBODY 3 PICTURES. “THE GORILLA” TO-NIGHT. A giant ape-man,' standing nine feet tall and tipping the scales at 400 pounds, has the title role in “ The Gorilla,” picturization of the sensational mystery-comedy by Ralph Spence which, in its stage version rocked a (/Broadway theatre for more than a year. Charlie Murray and Fred Kelsey axe co-featured in the role of Mulligan and Garrity, two detectives who hear all, see all, and know nothing. undertake to capture the gorilla and thus solve several mysterious murders which are supposed to have been committed by him. Their extraordinary methods in effecting this capture in a spooky house on the top 'of a cliff are reported to furnish most of the hilarity. The comedy, however, is combined with chills and thrills according to First National Pictures, which made “ The Gorilla.” Gorillas are notoriously dangerous. They are things to see behind the bars of a cage, but when there is one running loose in a house in which a murder has just been committed it is time for action, and Murrny.,Kelsey, Alice Hay, Tully Marshall, Cltvfrae Gillingwater, Walter Pidgeon, Gaston Glass, Brooks Benedict, Aggie Herring and Syd Crossly supply plenty of it. Alfred Santell, the director, is reported to have ably handled a most difficult picture. He has carefully blended an eerie melodrama, with hilarious comedy. He has kept a fast and even tempo of happenings, so that one is sitting on the edge df the seat from the opening flash to the last flicker. For spine tickling and scalp raising thrills you are advised to see “The Gorilla,” which will open at the Princess Theatre to-night.

A topical and comedy will also lie shown to-night.
