LONDON, January 9. “ It is good that during my Mayoralty, the ashes have again been awarded to England,” said Lord Mayor, Sit Kynaston Studd, at a dinner at the Mansion House. “ Some of you have no doubt, seen a photograph of those who first brought the ashes, which included my two brothers.” Lord Darnlcy said: “I assure you, as one who has played against the Australians, and knows them, they are no mean side to beat.
