SAVES WOMAN FROM DROWNING

INVERCARGILL Jan. 9.
While bathing at filuS on New Year’s Day Isobel Von Tunzelmann, a resident of Invercargill, got into difficulties, but was saved from drowning by the prompt and plucky action of a young girl, who disappeared afterwards without disolosing her name, Miss Von Tunzelmann being unable to express gratitude to the heroic rescuer. As a result it is learned to-day, however, that the girl who rescued .Miss Von Tunzelmann is Daphne Scheib, a High School girl, living at Cromwell, and visiting Invercargill on holidays. It is considered that Miss Sclieib’s splendid performance is deserving of recognition by the Royal Humane Society.
