SUCCESSTTU ASCENTS. (Special to ‘•Guardian.”) ATATvABORA, Jan. 8. Mr Samuel Turner. S.R.G.S.. o! AVellingfon, and Air Eric Aliller, oi Dunedin, succeeded in making the first ascents of Mounts Castor am - Pollux in ;S:>tiih Westland, on Friday. This makes Mr Turner's lift I ascent of uncliml.ed peaks in this distrier, during bis re'cut expedit in' Mr Miller was a member of the Aspiring party who readied the summit last year. Professor .1. 8. Turner’s geological exploration party left Alakarora this morning for the lied Mills.
