CORONER’S VERDICT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) GISBORINE, Jan. 7.. At the inquest on John Penny, a lorry driver, killed on December 6th., tiie Coroner gave a verdict that death was caused by colliding with a train, remarking, this is an unfortunate occurrence that is still clouded. The only point open to doubt is whether the whistle was sounded. If it were- blown it was at such a distance that it was not hoard by the occupants of the car approaching the crossing. His identity inot definitely established, but the name of W. J. Hitching, Martin borough, was found on the collar band of his shirt. LATER. The identity of the man lias been established as J. Hamilton, who came to Daiiuevirke on New Year’s Eve. from Atatio district.
