The first sale of the New Year was held at the above yards yesterday when a somewhat smaller, attendance than usual was present. Notwithstanding the fact competition was keen and prices were easily £1 to .91 l()s per head better than this time last year. Several pens of good finished ox beef made to 4os, while prime heifer neef reached 42s (id. Prime cows also made good prices. Our entry comprised 31 head of fats and stores and the following sales were record-
For W. D'cdrieh 1 bullock at £lO 12s Ukl. 2 a £l6. 2 at £1 T>. 4 at £l3 1 os. 2a £l3 17s 6d. 2 heifers at £ll 2s 6d 2 at 910 10s. For a client 1 bullock at £l2 17s Od. 1 runner at £6 os. 1 at £o, 2 heifers at £l3 os, 1 at 911 17s (id, 2 at £ll 12s od. ! cow at £l2. 2 cows at £lO. 2 at 910 2s od. 1 at £S). For S. Crupper 1 cow at £7 17s 6d. For L. Kelly 11 store steers at .98 Is od, A heifers at £4 11s. 2 yearlings at £2 os.
