MAIL CONTRACTS

U.s. RESTRICTION'S REMOVED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). WASHINGTON, Jan. 4. Mr Irving Glover, second assistant Postmaster-General-, lias announced that an order limiting the amount of mail to he carried by the three Canard vessels lias been rescinded. Mr Glover telephoned to the New York Postmaster requesting him to lilt the embargo. He said lie had issued the order as a temporary measure. because the Berengaria was late arriving here, and the other two ships were extremely slow.

Mr Glover renewed the charge that foreign countries were discriminating against American ships in mail shipments, hut said the Department was not at present planning retaliatory measures. However, it was prepniod to re-route its entire foreign mail to give American vessels a large share of trade it European discrimination continued.
