MOTOR SMASHES
BUS COLT,IDES WITH POLE
(Australian Press Association) (United Service.) SYDNEY, Jan. G. (•our peoplp were killed and sixteen injured in two big motor smashes yesterday. Toe i.or-t accident occurred on the Blue Mountain road at Lawson. A large tourist omnibus, containing twenty-two sightseers, holiday makers collided with a telegraph pole while tr.vng to avoid collision with a prime- car. The bus was badly damaged. .Miss Anni Haig, 26, of Fitzrov, Melbourne, and Miss Isabel MeFadycn, 35. of Mosman, Sydney, were 'both killed. Three other women passengers vi.-re severely injured. Tiie so- - ond accident was responsible dir two dehtlis. Mrs Cray, 61, of Cr ndviile, and Tlieima Healy, aged ilivoo. occurred at Parramatta Road, !• iemington; two ears crashing head on. The death victims were goihg with others to the cemetery to attend a funeral.
Among the injured • are three with fractured skulls.
