. EPIDEMIC IN EUROPE. (Los Angeles heavyweight to-night). Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON,.January 5. An influenza epidemic is raging in Germany, the hospitals in Berlin bein', unable to cope with it. There are many,cases in Britain hut no epidemic. The Health Ministry has warned the public and local authorities to talc© precautions. ■ INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC. 12,000 DEATHS IN U.S.A. WASHINGTON, Jan. 5. The United States census bureau reported that the influenza epidemic inow in its ninth week, and has taken over 12.000 lives in the sixty-five principal cities. Weekly reports have shown a steady rise in influenza-pneumonia deaths since November 3, tire latest o! which for the week ending December 29. showed 2,957 deaths from both diseases. Additional deaths are expected before the epidemic passes.
