WASHINGTON, Jan. 5. The United States census bureau reported that the influenza epidemic inow in its ninth week, and has taken over 12.000 lives in the sixty-five principal cities. Weekly reports have shown a steady rise in influenza-pneumonia deaths since November 3, tire latest o! which for the week ending December 29. showed 2,957 deaths from both diseases. Additional deaths are expected before the epidemic passes.
