INFLUENZA
PRECAUTIONS URGED. 'By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Jan. 4. “ Statements are being made that we have had a number of in flue am patients from ships and overseas in tho hospital,” declared Mr W. Wallace (Chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board). After a careful inquiry 1 am convinced no such case was admitted. I think, however, in view of the cables relative to influenza in other countries, it is the bounden duty of the Government and the health officers to exercise the greatest vigilance in regard to incoming vessels, and not to admit any person if there is the slightest trace ot the disease. We don’t want a repetition „r MRS, when a number df inllueu/.a east's were sent to Aucklant- Hospital when they should have been quarantined.
