SHOOTING AFFRAY
MAN CRITICALLY INJURED

A shooting affray occurred last night in New street in Surry Hills, as a result of which Frederick Blackridge, aged 24. a labourer, was critically injured. Essie Blaekridge, bis wife, received wounds in the arm and shoulder. Her condition is not serious.
.Tolm Annesley, a middle-aged man, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. The police un del-stands that a dispute between the families preceded the shooting. Blaekridge and bis wile. with Blackridgo’s brother, went to a New street house and kicked on the door. The door eventually flew open and a man appeared with a shotgun. He immediately fired, nearly the whole ol the charge entering Frederick Blaekridge’s chest, the wife receiving some pellets. The injured man was removed to hospital, hut refused to give much information to the police, who later went to the New street house. and wore confronted with a shotgun, but luckily the man did not fiiv. Tim police then made the arrest without resistance being offered.
