ALCOHOL DEATHS.

(Received this day at 9. a.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 1

Doctor Charles Norris, chief medical examiner of the city, reports had liquor or its effects caused 1565 deaths in New York in 1928, which is 156 more than 1927. Norris said:—“While only 138 deaths from alcoholism were recorded for 1928 there was a marked increase in homicides, motor accidents and accidental deaths from falls. Most of tliesc were directly traceable to x>oison alcohol.”
