BOWLING.
MATCHES WITH' CH.CH
The following letter has been received by the West Coast Bowling Centre 'from Mr E. W. Wade, secretary of the Christchurch Centre:— ‘*At a recent meeting of my Centre held' this week, the question of inaugurating an annual howling fixture with- your Centre was discussed, and 1 -was directed to write to you and enquire if your Centre would be. agreeable to the proposal. The suggestion is that a team of eight rinks from here should visit Greymouth and play a twenty-five head match against a West Coast team on the day before the tournament opened, and the following year the Coast players would visit Christchurch and so on. A like fixture with Otago and South Canterbury has been in operation for several years and these contests are eagerly looked forward to, and we feel that if your Centre sympathetically considered the proposition it will be the means ol further cementing the good ifeelings which already exist between the two provinces. Awaiting the favour of your reply and wishing you the season’s greetings.”
