The Washington' correspondent of the ‘' New York Times ” says that ‘ the State Department issued a statement to-day: “ The Secretary of Staff informed Sir Esine Howard that if the six Governments desire American ex '"phrts to -s'ilrve' upon the Comriiittoe ol Experts, the United' States have no objection. It is understood that a choice' , Of these experts will be;made and they will be appointed by those Governments.”
■ Thus official A'rilbriCan' participation' in the German reparations question is assiired. Tt is expected that the United ■ States will be 1 asked whethet the Allied ! Governments’ choice is acceptable to it. It is believed here that the settle : merit of the reparations problem will pave tlie way fOf French ratification of her War Debt agreement with the United States.
Ahiong tlie names of American experts suggested are thoes who already served on the original Reparations Coriimittee and MV Dwight Morrow, of tlie J. Pierpont Morgan Company.
