A young man, Dominick Magee, met with a serious accident at Greymouth last evening at the wharf near the railway station about 7.15 o’clock. He was sitting on the concrete wall, facing tlie railway line, when a train was arriving he overbalanced and fell fourteen ileet upon the rocks below, rolling into the river. He extracted himself from the water, but could move no further up than the water’s edge. He was lifted by means of ropes to the wharf, and conveyed to the hospital in tho motor of a Canterbury visitor. Though he did not lose consciousness, his inuries were apparently seveie, hut their exact nature was not ascertainable last night, though he was reported at a late hour not to he in any immediate danger.
