DR R. A. TORREY DEATH OF AX AMERICAN EVANGELIST. Tli death of I)r Reuben Aivlior Torrev, piirtner of the famous Tor rev-Alex-ander evangelist mission to Great Britain more than 20 years ago, is announed in a message from New pork. Dr Torrey was horn at Hoboken, New Jersey, and was the son of an Inland Revenue collector. He made his public confession as a Christian while studying at Yale University, and later came under the influence of Moody, who, in partnership with San key, had conducted a vigorous religious campaign in Great Britain in the ’seventies.
