.Moira Stopforlh. in the coming Queen Carnival. I lie liist part of the evening was devoted to cards, a very enjoyable time being spent liy the part: eipants. At the conclusion of play a short musical programme was given, and was greatly enjoyed by the assemblage. The followin'!; rendered items: .Misses M. Raid. M. Ilatirahan. J. Stopforth, and T. Hatch. Misses A. Daly and M. Stojiforih were the accompanists.
Prior to dancin'!, the M.C., Mr R. Furness, introduced the Sports Queen, and hi icily stated the object < : i the oe t heri up;. He stated that anyone associating' themselves with sport should whole-heartedly support the candidate and when the final count takes place in a few months they should see. that, she is on top. Dancing then took place and was continued till a late hour. This is the first ol a series ol social
dances for the Sports Queen, and when the festive season is over patrons may look forward to lurther socials, similar to last, evenin'!.
