31USSOLINUS STATEMENTS DISCREDITED. LONDON, December 19. The “Daily Chronicle’s” Baris correspondent. states that despite Mussolini’s optimistic speeches, it has been learned that the economic situation in Italy is causing anxiety. Three large well-known provincial hanks have become bankrupt within a fortnight. The year’s working on the railways is unfavourable, while despite all the propaganda campaign for increased production, the maize harvest has shown a reduction of 25 per cent, rice nine, and potatoes 26.
