BRIBERY CHARGE

On the resumption of the Goddard ease, of Dec. lOth., bank clerks gave evidence that several notes of high tienominations were traced as .having passed from Soho Night Club to Goddard. ami were eventually lountl in safe denosiis as cabled. Supt. Morton of Goddard’s division submitted various reports from Goddard in connection with Clubs, which as a result of complaints Goddard was iostyuctod to wat'h. These stated there was not a title of evidence of illegal liquor and the allegations were characterised as I'oundationless and unsubstantial. The witness submitted other reports by Goddard replying to anonymous charges wherein Goddard said the writers must be .suffering from liallu(■•'ou’c.ns or be confirmed liars. I lie superintendent added that considerable expenses wore incurred by Goddard throughout the observation. Once he paid out £BO sterling expenses to him. I The hearing was adjourned.
