Recently the Inaiigahua Trotting Club and Reefl oll Jockey ( lub came to grips regarding the lormcr club - alleged obligation to pay a charge made hy the hitter for the use of it* course. Last- week the matter was referred to an arbitrator with the consent of Messrs A. Brooks, president of the Inaiigahua Trotting ( lub, and E. W. Spencer, president of the Beet ton Jockey Club. Apparently M>- Brooks had not tbe authority of bis club to seek arbitration, and at a special meeting of the Inaiigahua Trotting Club on Thursday evening .Mr Brookwas called on to resign for having usurped the functions of the three appointed to deal with the difficulty. Ah- Brooks refused to vacate the chair, hut eventually did so and retired when Mr G. Lockington moved under rule 30 that Mr Brooks be removed from the position of president. M.r I) McKane seconded the motion which was carried. Mr boekington was then elected president vice M 1 Brooks. Mr E. W. Newton’s resignation as viee-president and a member oi the club was received and accepted.
