AERONAUTICAL CONFERENCE
NEED FOR INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS. (United Press Association- -By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). WASHINGTON, Dec. 14. The Canadian Deputy -Minister o' National Defence, Air Dos Barart, presented an appeal to the Aeronactical Conference at its final plenary session to-day, for the establishment of an international code of the stand aid certificates of air - worthiness which would include the United States as well as European countries. No official action was taken by the meeting, but it is considered probable that , there would be further informal discussions before the aviation experts: here depart 'for home. The United States’ failure to ratify the Convention of 1919, is believed here to binder developments, and the export df American airplane equipment; and recent Australian proclamation on this .matter, seemed to be an instance in point. Mr l)e Barats explained that Canada. lias a working agreement witli the United States, under which Canada imports aviation equipment, despite the fact tliat Canada is a signatory to the convention of 1919. Mr Des Barats added: “I suggest to members of the conference that they urge upon their respective Governments the necessity of a unified code:” The delegates depart to-morrow for Kittyhawk, North Carolina, for the unveiling df a statue in connection with the Wright celebration.
