A NATIONAL APPEAL. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON. December 15. As the result of to-day’s Cabinet meeting, it is practically certain that the Government’s scheme to assist the unemployed miners will consist of a Treasury donation to the Lord Mayor’s iund for food, boots and chothing. Those the Government regard as the most pressing need. The Government, however, fears that this annuoncement will possibly cause a slackening of private donations for the unemployed which now amounts to .€11.500. The Government hopes, therefore, that a national organised appeal will aim at raising half a million sterling, in which event the Government will he prepared to add half a million.
