During the last week inspector ir win conducted the proficiency examination at the Ross school with the following results:— Ross Public School.—-Gained pro Tu-iency: Robert Wilson, Jack Smith Bernard Windsor, Sidney Upjohn, Ena Thiele and Verda Jones. Endorsed competency: .day Deakin. .Competency: Walter Alason. Ross Convent School.—Rrofioiouey : Jack Rea and Richard Carter. Competency: John ileveldt. Aliko'iUii.—■-Proficiency : Gordon Al.ilelioll. The Navy League dert-ifieates for host essay were won by Jack Smith, Ist; and Ena Thiele, 2nd. Yesterday the Wataroa Cricket team paid a visit to Ross, and played a game with the local team.
