LONDON, Dec; lit
In the ahsence of any antiiorilalive statement in the bulletins, or otherwise, there is still doubt as to the actual extent oil’ the .operation perlormed on the Kino. One well inhumed source states that the operation involved the removal of a small section of a rib to faciltate drainage. On the other hand the “Daily Kxoress” slates that it was found unnecessary to cut into a rib. A small incision was ifottnd adequate |nr the insertion of the tube.
KOVAL FAMILY NOW SATISFIED
LONDON, Dec. 13
Tin* “D.iily Express” states:—The Koyal Family are now entirely satisfied witli the condition of the Kind’s health to-night. There was great anxiety iit the Palace last night, due to a doubt as to whether the heart was strong enough to stand the operation. It was pointed out to both the Queen and the Prince of Wales that if the operation was performed, toxaemia would in all probability be fatal. It was ultimately decided that the operation, dangerous as it was, was the only alternative. The “Daily Express” medical correspondent, describes the latest bulletin as satisfactory, adding that it cannot be expected that the reovery will bo rapid, but a pleasing feature is that there is no mention of heart weakness. CONDITION IMPROVES. BUT DANGER NOT OVER. LONDON, Dec. Kb It is authoritatively staled that Mis .Majesty has lost no ground. It is considered by the doctors that he has.
in fact, progressed. f I here must, however, continue to he anxiety in the immediate future regarding his strength. Nevertheless the doctors are gratified that the King has thus *lai not only held his own, but actually
there is some slight improvement. This almost more than had been expected under the circumstances. As long as the exhaustion becomes no worse, there is every hope that the effects of the operation will be successfully overcome. The condition sit the actual seat of the operation is satis-
factory. It is stated that no significance is attached to the presence of Dr. Hodgson. Neither he nor Dr. Buzzard, who was also at tlie palace, signed the bulletin. The Prince of Wales launched with the Queen. 'He and the Du! e . ti< Duchess of York dined with the Qneeu.

tßeceived this day at 10 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 11
It is authoritatively stated that there is more eoiiiidence in the 1 ulu« but nevertheless anxiety will continue for some time. Both bulletins and the Queen’s message to Mr Coalidge indicate that the doctors are preparing for a long, difficult struggle. Though much noxious matter has been removed Irom the body, there arc still risks to ! faced. The conflict between general infection and the King’s strength continues.
