A dispute of many years’ standing over the desolate Oran Chaco territory, on the I’aiaguayan-Bolivian border is threatening to cause war between the two countries. Diplomatic relations have lieen severed by Bolivia, which presented a passport to the Paraguayan Charge D’Alfa ires. The Governments of both countries held secret sessions to consider the situation to-night. The Bolivian Chancellory re!used the Paraguayan offer to submit the matter to an investigatory body tor the present.

Difficulty was engendered when the Paraguayan soldiers attacked the Bolivian fort on the frontier. A battle ensued in which the majority of ilio.se killed were Bolivian soldiers.
