This is the season of the year when there i.s the capacity demand on the local water supply. In the public interests, however, householders should ho careful not to waste water in the frequent use on the lawns or the gardens. There is a necessity to conserve the water supply as much as possible for fire prevention purposes, and all users of the water should be moderate in their domestic work, so that water will not- be wasted. The Borough Council notifies to-day that users must exercise all possible care and restriction in the use of the water service and compliance with this request will he in the public interests.

He. however, returned to France, and alter further service in the trenches joined the Air Force. While living in the Battle of Passchondaele lie was again forced to descend behind the Herman lines, and was made a prisoner. He spent 1 g weeks in Herman hospitals, hut oil the intervention of the Dutch Ambassador he was sent to England, where he again took up flying duties.

A musical priest, Father G. B. O’Meeghan, of Timaru, returned to Auckland on Wednesday by the ALaunganui alter two years at the Irish College in Rome. Before his ordination lie was organiser-manager of the Digger Pierrot troup which toured New Zealand (for patriotic purposes, and he gave an organ recital in the AVellington
Town Hall. AATiile at Rome he conducted the college choir, and also the choir at the Pontifieial Requiem for Cardinal O’Donnell. Although unable to attend a regular course at the Seala in Rome Father O’Meeghan in his spare moments did much to improve his musical education. Two Aucklanders are at the Irish College, Father F. Terry, who was recently ordained, and Mr AY. B. Flynn.
