Two were killed and lour mime., during an encounter between police and- students in connexion with Jugoslavian ceremonies at Zagreb, the Croatian capital, commemorating the deeentenarv oi the ( nion ol the Seths. Croats and Slovenes.
Three Croat,iau students appeared in the gallery of the Cathedral, heloie which a guard of honour was drawn up. and unfurled three black thigiinscribed with the dates of the death, last June, of M. Stephen Had itch, leader of the Croatian Peasant Pat tv. and also the dittos of the SerboCroatian Union and the demonstration against the Serbs, both the latte in 1918.
Generals drew their swords a.s the crowds responded to the trio’s call for cheers for “Raditch and Fret* Croatia!”
Gonoral Yesovics ordered the arrest of the trio. The crowd rushed to liberate them, and soldiers opened lire, killin'' two students. The troops were then withdrawn, and police and gendarmes dispersed the crowd alter a policeman and three others had been injured.
