SANDERS CUP.
FIVE CONTESTANTS

CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 4
Entries for the Sanders Clip contests closed"with the Secretary of the Canterbury Sanders Cup Association on Nov. 30th. Challenges were received from Auckland, Wellington, Otago and Southland (Stewart Island). This means that with the holder (Canterbury) five provinces will be competitors. The first day of the races will be February 11th. at Akaroa. LABOUR PARTY CAUCUS. WELLINGTON, December 4. Caucus of the Labour Party sat all day yesterday and again to-day. It is understood a decision was reached as to the attitude to be adopted by the party in the House. This is not revealed, but it was stated Mr 11. E. Holland would make tbe whole position clear when he spoke in the Address-in-Rcply debate. The caucus unanimously reelected Air H. E. Holland leader of the Parliamentary Party. The deputyleader is Mr AL J. Savage, Secretary Air P. Fraser, assistant secretary, Air AV. Barnard, whips Aiessrs E. J. Howard and D. G. Sullivan.
PROGRESSING SOUTH. DUNEDIN, Dec. 4
A wireless from the City of New York states all aboard are well and progress being made at a satisfactory speed of seven knots.
