DEAIAND FOll PROTECTION. 'United Press Association—.By Eloctrio Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, Doc. 3. There is great interest in Yorkshire in the decision of the meeting ol the National Association of Unions in the textile trades at'Bradford, in consequence of the report that five Trade Unions’ Associations had adopted the following declaration : “That unemployment in the wool industry is likely to be accentuated by the importation of foreign pressed goods. Trades Unions, with certain limitations,' should therefore support manufacturers making further application for safeguarding.” The declaration il'ollow.s a confcrcnco with employers. It is understood that the duty proposal will apply to all imported wool fabrics from two to eleven ounces per square yard. Previous safeguarding applications in 1925 were refused, but the Trade Unions were not associated with the employers.

The Trade Unions will meet on Tuesday to draw up details.
