I wish t r express our deep appreciation. We are delighted that we decided to make our departure from this country, and we will be delighted to get hack to it again, after our task is completed. All members of the expedition exten 1 their best wishes to the people of New Zealand. We should make every effort to uphold the traditions of Scott. Shackleton, .Mawson and Amundsmi.” LATER. The Eleanor Bolling and City of New York, with Commander Byrd and an advance party of 50, left Duned n shortly alter f> a.m. to-day for the frozen regions of the Ear South. They wil' proceed to the Bay of At hales, wheio a. base will be."established, and where the party will remain, while the Eleanor Bolling returns to Dunedin to pick up the aeroplanes, which had to tie unloaded at the last minute, owing to the excess of top hamper on the deck. The ships were accorded an enthusiastic farewell, and left with many expressions of the hope for a successful voyage and a sale return.
