MOTOR CAR SMASH
A WOMAN KILLED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Dee. 3. A motor car accident •which proved fatal to one of the passengers occurred at Plimmerton yesterday afternoon, when a roadster, driven by L. White, of 203 Parade, Island Bay, wont over a ton foot hank. The victims of the accident ■were: — Killed :—Miss J. Lewis, photographer, of Auroro Terrace. Tnjuied:—L. White (Island Bay). Miss’ E. Fa Icon bridge (Parliament Street), Miss E. Rigby (Ngahauranga). A. S. Oroggins (Taranaki Street), G. M. Russell (Adelaide Road). The accident occurred about one p.m. when W. White was driving a car to Plimmerton. As he was ascending a hill near the township he attempted to change from top gear to second, hut the gear missed and the car ran backwards down the hill, and over a ten foot bank, coming to rest upside down in the hod of the cieck. People wore quickly on the scene and the victims were taken to Plimmerton and the ambulance summoned. but Miss Lewis was dead before it arrived. The other victims were attended to at Tecoma House, by Mr Barlow, the proprietor.
