An accident occurred last evening &t>out 5.30 o’clock at Cobden, a little girl, eight years of age, Joan Chamlov, tlie daughter of Mr 0. Chamlcy, of the Cobden Hotel, being severely injured through being knocked over by a motor car. The Cobden bus had just stopped in front of the hotel, and the girl, who had been a passenger, and alighted, was coming from behind the bus when the accident occurred. A Ford car, belonging, it is stated, to a Paparoa resident, Mr Young, was proceeding at the time towards Cobden bridge and it came into contact with the child, who was rendered unconscious, and was at once removed to the Grey River Hospital. On inquiry late last night, it was learned that the sufferer was semiconscious, but the actual extent of her injuries was not ascertained.—“Arghs.” .
