“Private Izzy .Murphy,” tlie Mastei Picture, released by .Master Pictures to he shown at the Princess Theatr to-night, stars George Jessel, tin famous “Jazz Singer,” who won suer enviable acclaim in New York last year. Featured with Jessel are Patsy Kutl .Miller and Vera Gordon. An excellem company, is in support, and the filming was directed by IJoyd Bacon, son o Frank Bacon, star and author o “ LightninV’ “Private Izzy Murphy’ is tlie story of Izzy Goldberg, a younj. delicatessen keeper of New York, and of his dealings with the Irish. Foi business reasons lie decides to change his name to “ Murphy,” and goes overseas with an Irish regiment under that name. The story does not burlesque racial traits, but is a play with that “ touch of nature ” which “makes the whole world kin.” All sons should take their mothers to see “Private Izzy Murphy,” the Warner Production release by Master Pictures, now at the Princess Theatre. In the first place, it is a mother and son story, a mirthful, •heartening, tender., story of itar am human hearts, Irish and Jewish hearts made on by things mightier than dis putes and prejudices: George Jessel who is starred, is personally the chic: pal of his own mother, his father having died when the lad was but nine. Patsy Kuth Miller, who is the Iris sweetheart in the picture, is noted ir Hollywood for other than her screen success, especially for the fact that shr and her mother are practically insepar able, even having identical hair-bobs ' Vera Gordon, who is one of tlie featured players, is perhaps the most celebrated of all portrayers of “ mother parts.” “Private Izzy Murphy” glorifies American motherhood.
