REFORM PARTY

MEETING OE SnWIiTEIiS

MR COATES’ INTENTIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Nov. 39

A meeting of Reform supporters held here last night passed the following resolution : “That this meeting of citizens of Wellington, confident in the great ability of the Right Hon. J. G. Coates to lead the country, expresses to him thanks for his distinguished services in the past and is confident that in the near future the country will insist on his restoration to the position ot Prime Minister.”

Mr C-oates, replying, said they never need fear because every measure would be keenly scrutinised and only legislation for the country’s good would lie supported. Any other would be subject to hard clean fighting and strenuous opposition.
