CRICKET
TO-DAY’S TEST MATCH
(Australian Pi ess Association) (United Service).
BRISBANE, Nov. 29
The wicket lor the first test, commencing to-morrow, is very satisfactory. There is more grass than usual, but if the match extends beyond four days, it will begin to wear, and tbe side which loses the toss will 'be unfortunate, writes Macaruiey. Both Ryder and Chapman arc optimistic. The heat in Brisbane is most oppressive. and humid, and there is a tendency for thunderstorms. Ironmonger having a knock at the nets to-day, received, a severe blow on the check, which put him out of action.
