William Montgomery Senile, motor driver. 35, admitted at tli'* Police Court, to being intoxicated whilst ii: charge of a lorry. Counsel said that Seaife had been wounded in the ankle in tlx* war and it would he difficult for him to obtain other employment as a manual labourer. Accused was paying £2 a week oli’ a house, and would pi-ibably have to default in the payments and lose a. considerable equity in the house, if the license were cancelled. The fact that accused had been paying off such a sum showed he walnut in tlie habit of wasting money on drink. Air Page imrosed a fine ol £2 r > and allowed a month to pay.
A LAST CHANCE. AUCKLAND. Nov. 29. The theft of five cheques, of a total value of £SO. belonging to heemployer, was admitted by William Frederick Davorne. aged 24. in Hie Police Court.
