FOREIGN TIMBER
TO BE USED IN TOURIST HOSTEL

Writing to the “ Hangitikei Advocate ” regarding the erection of the hostel in tin* National Park, Mr .J. A. .Bush, chairman of the Main Ilrunk Timber Trade Protection Guild.. states that it has come to his knowledge that considerable quantities ol American timber were to he used in place ol New Zealand timbers. Oregon flooring 'had arrived on the job, and otliei lots of foreign timber were to be used. Mr Bush states that the use of this timber for such a purpose is an outrage, and an insult to saw nulloi s. .Many hundreds of sawmill workers were working along the Main I ruuk line, many ol them in the immediate vicinity of National Park, where stocks of fully seasoned New Zealand tiniboi were available. He asks members of the National Park Board to slate flie r reasons for authorising the use ol foreign timber in what is to he a national playground for New Zealand.
