NOMINATIONS FOR COUNCIL ANI CONFERENCE.

The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand elections or their Executive Council officials and tin' delegates for the conference are now being taken throughout the Dominion, 'l’he contests are creating o lot of interest among the members ot the service in both islands, and there are a number of nominees for the various positions, ell icily ill the i radii branch, for the Executive Council representatives. The representatives bn tin' South Island in the Traffic Department are .Messrs M. Connelly. S. Page and AV. D. Wilson (Dunedini. A. Graham and -J. W. .Morgan (Lyttelton), and A. APNicke! and S. Schofield (Christchurch). 'i lie Lyttelton and

Christchurch nominees, with the addition of A. Light loot (Christrliurcli). are also candidates lor-the conference, which meets in February next to outline the policy ol the society. Fur the AVay and AVorkx and Signal and Elect i: -a! Depart mrnt s’ representatives, .Messrs E. Clemens and F. ( . Willipnis. are the nominated delegates for. the, conference.

For the maintenance staff. Messrs I*,. ,J. Dash (Tiniaru). R. Alexander (AAui■pataj), J. AI. Ross (Palmerston South') ami J. C. Thompson (Clyde) are candidates for the council, ‘ aiuf .Messrs E. Dash and R. Alexander are nominated for the conference.

The ballots are being' 1 conducted or the preferential voting system, and members ol the society must record at least two votes to make the voting loimal. With the large number of candidates standing for election, and the number of members of the society, the results wil 1 not be available tor some time yet. The ballot closes on h rid ay no.’it.
