DETAILS OF INSURANCES,

WELLINGTON. November 27

A meeting of the Underwriters’ Association was held this morning, at which it was discovered that the total amount of insurance was £12(5,350, while the estimated losses beyond insurance were, roughly, £100,000; possibly more, so that the damage caused by last night’s record conflagration was in the neighbourhood of a-quarter of a million sterling.

The following is the list of all the premise's upon which claims for damage, slight or otherwise, are likely to

arise, and the amounts for which the premises on contents were insured : Main Emit Exchange: Building, in Royal Exchange Office, £32,000.

Thompson Bros. Ltd.: Contents and stock. £12,000; lift and fittings £2,500 (N.Z. Office) ; stock. £OOOO (Alliance Ofiiee), £O,OOO (North British and Mercantile Office); total, £32,500. Laery and Co., Ltd.: Stock, £10,500 (Royal Exchange Co.).

Tolan Printing Co.: Contents, £I2OO (Australian Provident Ofiiee), £750 (N.Z. Office); total, £1950. George Thomas and Co.: £6OOO (in Ocean Office). Brown Bros, and Corliss: Stock, £2OOO (South Britsh Office). Johnson and Eglin: £3200 (Phoenix Office), £7OO (National Office); total, £3,900.

Griffen, Savage and Co.: £6,200 (Southern Union Office); stock, £IOOO (United Office); total, £7,200. Open Warehouse: £SOO (London and Lancashire’ Office), £2,500 (Standard Office); total, £3OOO. Toop and Neilson: £ISOO (Standard Office), £ISOO (N.Z. Office); total £3OOO.

Harrisons and Ramsay Ltd.: £ISOO (London and Lancashire Office), £SOO (Commercial Union Office); total, £2OOO.

Buck-land and Co.: £IOO (National Office).

Keane Ltd.: £3OO (South British Office).

McLeod and Co.: £4OO (Guardian Office).

Wei Lon and Co.: £l5O (Royal Office).

Dunslionth and Co.: £IBSO (United Office).

Down to this point, the losses are believed to bo total. The extent of the loss in the following is not definite:— Ooldinghnm and Beckett, Ltd.: Building, £SOOO (Northern Office), and £SOOO (Royal Exchange Office); contents, £2OOO (Northern Office); total, £16,000. W. Burbidge and Co.: Buildings, £2OOO (State Office) ; contents, £IOO (Victoria Office); total, £2IOO. New Zealand Platers Ltd.: Stock and plant, £IOOO (South British Office) . Union Clothing Company: £IOO (National Office).

Post and Telegraph Department: Material, £l5O (National Office). W. H. Bray: £750 (National Office); £BOO (Sun Office); £l5O (State Office;; total, £I2OO. ,). Bowie (D. Bowie bad moved): Contents, £SOO (Prudential Office). Teagle Smith and Sons, Ltd., were insured in Lloyd’s Office, but the amount is not yet available.
