ALLEGED CONSPIRACY

A conspiracy was alleged in it ease heard before Mr Justice Adams in the Supreme Court to-day, in which Dominion Motors Ltd., (Wellington) was the plaintiff, and John Fleming and Sarah Jane Fleming defendants. ft was alleged oil behalf of plaintiff that George Wilcox, motor dealer, became indebted to plaintiff for £4,000 in October, 1927. Plaintiff required Wilcox to supply a security and ho promised to obtain guarantees from John Fleming, his father-in-law. Wilcox subsequently furnished a guarantee signed “S. J. Fleming.” The signature was that of Sarah Jane Fleming, hut was represented to bo that of Joint Fleming. It was alleged that the two defendants conspired to defraud the Coy. by representing the signature to be that of John Fleming. The plaintiff company, in consequence of the guarantee. supplied goods to Wilcox. The Company claimed £2OOO damages from defendants.
The hearing was adjourned till tomorrow.
