HANDSOME BEQUEST
TO JUBILEE INSTITUTE

OAMARU, Nov. 23
A pleasant surprise awaited Air Cliitha McKenzie, on the occasion of the visit of the Blind Boys’ Band to Oamaru to-night, when the Mayor, Mr Frank Orawsliaw, announced a bequest of £2300 to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind.
A labouring man, single, known as “Tiger” Hall, of Herbert, whose death occurred recently, accumulated £13,000, and in bis will be left £2OOO each to the Salvation Army, Barn ado Homes, Oamaru Hospital, Jubilee Institute for the Blind, and the Otipopo Church.
The bequest, with interest, now represents £2,300. The Mayor’s announcenien to-night took Mr Clutha McKenzie completely by surprise.
